Privacy Policy

The federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) protects consumer credit report information. Where the FCRA applies, Personal Information is only collected with an applicant’s express consent, and it is only given out with the applicant’s express consent. Personal Information subject to the FCRA remains safe and secure in our database, and is not accessible or available to anyone without the user’s permission. In general, the information can only be requested by a Consumer Reporting Agency pursuant to the consumer’s authorization under the FCRA. PeopleG2 is a supplier of pre-employment screening services only, and does not compile persistent datasets about consumers. The data maintained in its system is only for proposes of auditing and compliance in the normal course of business, and any future access in order to supply data on any consumer is authorized by the consumer.   1. This Service does not collect Personal Information online from individuals.
  2. Except as provided for in this Privacy Policy, no information provided to the Service through e-mail or any other method is released, utilized or shared with anyone else, including, but not limited to, third parties or affiliates unless authorized by the consumer.  Personal Information may be transferred to domestic or international third parties, pursuant to the individual’s consent.
  3. The PeopleG2 System is a separate web site that is only available to PeopleG2 and PeopleG2 clients and is utilized as a means for PeopleG2 to receive orders from authorized entities and to transmit information to and from authorized users. However, all such usage is strictly between PeopleG2 and business entities whose legitimate need for the information and permissible purpose has been verified pursuant to the requirements of the FCRA. Note that PeopleG2 may disclose Personal Information to a third party as required by law, in response to a governmental request, as part of an acquisition of all or most of PoepleG2’s assets, or in a bankruptcy proceeding.
  4. The PeopleG2 System is protected by encryption and access controls, ensuring protection for data collected and stored within. Access to Personal Information is restricted to the users and customers that should have it with robust security, encryption and authentication protection. All employees who have access to any information from this site have signed privacy agreements and are regularly trained in privacy practices and procedures.

PeopleG2 is committed to the policy to protect and maintain the privacy and Personal Information that we assemble and maintain on behalf of employers concerning individuals. In that regard, we certify that we participate in the Safe Harbor Framework managed by the United States Department of Commerce, in relation to Personal Information collected in the European Union. We endorse and follow the principles and practices outlined in the seven principals of the Safe Harbor Framework. This service is compliant with the Department of Commerce for the Safe Harbor program. We fulfill our obligation under the seven principals in the following manner:

1. Notice

Data Collected

The PeopleG2 System will collect (in both paper or electronic format) and use Personal Information about you. The Personal Information collected includes, but is not limited to: personal contact details, employment history (including performance and discipline), employment identification number, salary and benefits information, educational and other credential information, and other information about you that could be deemed Sensitive pursuant to applicable local law.

Sensitive Information

PeopleG2 will consider Sensitive any Personal Information the applicable jurisdiction considers sensitive (e.g. the European Union Directive 95/46/EC). We will limit the usual collection and use of your Sensitive Personal Information to that which is strictly necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. We will obtain your explicit consent to the processing of your sensitive Personal Information except where the collection or use of your sensitive Personal Information is: in your vital interests, or that of another individual; necessary for the establishment of legal claims or defenses; or related to Personal Information that you expressly made public.

Purposes for Processing

The PeopleG2 System collects information on individuals for the purpose of providing the information to employers for employment related decisions. The information may also be provided to agents of employers such as recruiters or staffing firms. The data that is collected on individuals is used to provide employers with employment background checks and credentials verification on potential job applicants or current employees. The information is used by employers to make decisions on whom to hire, retain, or promote. It may also be utilized to conduct employee investigations where an employer has a suspicion of work related misconduct or wrongdoing.

2. Choice or Consent 



The PeopleG2 System only collects Personal Information, as described in this Privacy Policy, with the consumer’s explicit consent. Additionally, the Service only operates when a consumer explicitly identifies those past employers, educational institutions, or other credential granting organizations from which Personal Information may be collected. The information collected by the PeopleG2 System is only utilized for the purpose described in this Privacy Policy.
In the event a consumer wishes to opt-out of any use of information collected by PeopleG2, a consumer can notify PeopleG2 that permission for use of the data is withdrawn here www.peopleg2.com/contact .

That does not mean that if a consumer opts-out that the data is erased or deleted. In the event of a withdrawal of consent, the data will not be forwarded or utilized by this service for employment screening purposes. However, Personal Information collected by the PeopleG2 Service may still be retained or used as permitted by law, or required by contract.

3. Personal Information Disclosure: United States or Overseas



Except as otherwise specified in this Privacy Policy, the Personal Information obtained by the PeopleG2 System is forwarded only to an entity that has been authorized by a consumer to receive the data, or an agent of the end user operating on behalf of the end-user. The recipient of the information may be in either the United States, or another country.

PeopleG2 may disclose Personal Information to service providers providing services directly to PeopleG2 without your consent. These service providers are required by law or contract to only use any Personal Information as directed by PeopleG2, and maintain sufficient protections of such Personal Information so they comply with the requirements of this Privacy Policy.

The Personal Information obtained by the PeopleG2 System is only provided to the requesting entity for purpose described in the section under “Notice.” The PeopleG2 System may also operate as an agent for a Consumer Reporting Agency as defined under the FCRA. In either event, the requesting entity or the CRA must certify that the information will be used only for a permissible purpose as defined by the FCRA and that the information will remain private and confidential. PeopleG2 also takes reasonable steps to insure that any party that receives such information has certified that it will maintain privacy and confidentiality and will only utilize the information for purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Finally, We may transfer your Personal Information to regulatory authorities (including tax authorities), government agencies, parties (including the Company’s legal or other advisors) in legal proceedings involving the Company, third parties with whom Company may collaborate or engage in acquisition transactions, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.

4. Access

The PeopleG2 System provides access to individuals on all data collected about that individual in order to allow an individual the reasonable opportunity to ascertain what Personal Information this service possesses about them; and to correct, amend or delete Personal Information that is inaccurate or incomplete. Disclosure is provided under the terms of the FCRA. Under certain circumstances, a consumer is entitled to a free copy of their report. Under all circumstances, a consumer is entitled to a copy of their report under the terms of the FCRA.

For a citizen of the EU, PeopleG2 reserves the right to charge an administrative fee not to exceed $20.00 to cover the cost of reviewing our records to determine if a consumer is in our file. The administrative cost of obtaining and forwarding any information will be at the consumers hands. However, PeopleG2 also reserves the right to engage in reasonable efforts to confirm the identity of anyone requesting data. This to further ensure that we only provide data to the consumer that is the subject of the data.

Although we make every effort to ensure that the data we collect and store about you is as accurate as possible, PeopleG2 cannot guarantee that third parties are accurate in information that is provided to us, and therefore we are not responsible for the accuracy of data about you that may be supplied by such sources of information.

5. Security

PeopleG2 takes reasonable procedures to protect personal and identifiable information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure or alteration and destruction. PeopleG2 utilizes encryption to protect sensitive information online. We also have implemented reasonable security to protect user information off-line. Personal Information is restricted to our offices and authorized users. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to Personal Information. Password protection protocols are used on all computers. Furthermore, employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Finally, the servers that are used to store Personal Information are kept in a secure environment, with appropriate security measures.

6. Data Integrity



This service only collects Personal Information that is necessary for the purposes listed under the section on “Notice.” This Personal Information includes information that is necessary to identify the individual for purposes of collecting employment related information.
Various laws require that PeopleG2 maintain the Personal Information in the Service for a period of time for the protection of the individual. Where the Personal Information is collected for employers in the United Sates the PeopleG2 Service will retain Personal Information for six years as required under the FCRA. PeopleG2 will retain Personal Information as required by applicable law or contract.

7. Enforcement

PeopleG2 verifies adherence to the EU Safe Harbor Policy by means of in-house verification by the management of this company. In addition, we provide readily available and affordable independent recourse mechanisms. These independent recourse mechanisms are:

Each individual’s complaints and disputes are investigated and resolved by reference to the Principles and applicable law or private sector initiatives. PeopleG2 is subject to regulation by the Federal Trade Commission and has agreed to cooperate and comply with the European Data Protection Authorities.
If your concern or complaint remains unresolved after using the normal PeopleG2 process, and you are a resident of the European Union, you may contact the Data Protection Authority of the country where you are a resident. We will cooperate with the EU Data Protection Authorities and/or their representatives, as appropriate, for investigation and resolution of the complaint
