The Flexible Workplace: A Step Into The Future

There is a shift in the traditional culture of business, one that goes beyond employment screening.  This shift is towards creating a more flexible workplace.  The realization is that as business takes on a more global outlook, the ways in which results are achieved and the hours needed to achieve those results has drastically changed.  With a new generation of employees coming into the work force, a generation that carries a vastly different understanding of what it means to be successful in business and in life, it behooves companies to examine their culture and see if it’s time to make some changes.

While the shift in corporate culture toward more flexibility benefits both men and women, the driving force behind this type of movement are women, or more specifically moms.  Women no longer want to opt out of the professional world because of responsibilities with children and family.  Conversely, men want to have the ability to spend more time with children and create more of a work/life balance.  There is a desire to work, but it comes with the understanding that in order to get and maintain vital employees, businesses must make the changes that benefit a new age of workers.

Even with a more flexible workplace and creating a culture that people want to be a part of, the need for a quality background check remains and in some ways becomes even more important.  The more flexible a company looks from the outside, the more desirous it becomes for people to gain employment there.  Resume fraud, and those things that can be found through employment screening are an even more important part of staffing a company as we move into a new and more flexible corporate future.
